Below is an example of how Cadbury Chocolate used a combination of nouns to create a feeling of joy. Joy is also the same feeling you may associate with chocolate.

Not all advertising uses nouns as a starting point to create advertising ideas, but I personally think this is one of many great methods to brainstorm advertising ideas.

Below I reverse engineer an advertisement and attempt to break it down into its most basic ingredients. This may seem weird, breaking down advertising into an algebra type equation, but I’m sure this is the logic that art director wants the public to associate with.  Gorilla plus drums = joy. Chocolate = Joy, therefore Gorilla plus drums = Chocolate
